Economy
- Lower taxes.
- Let the free market run with reasonable regulation.
- Limit cumbersome and irrational regulations.
- Cut bloated government programs.
- Reduce and stabilize interest rates.
The economy works best when the government keeps its hands out of it. Some taxes and regulations are necessary, but the federal government has become bloated. Facing difficult economic times, we need congress to shrink the size of government by cutting taxes and eliminating cumbersome regulations.
Business and free enterprise create wealth, jobs, and tax revenue. Business must be encouraged to expand. I oppose all unnecessary regulations that hamper business expansion and I will work to remove these needless impediments to economic development. This is the key to progress.
In every vote I cast, I will consider whether the issue at hand could be better resolved by lower levels of government. Part of our economic problem stems from the federal government getting involved in matter that should be handled by states and municipalities. Instead of expanding and getting unnecessarily involved in even more aspects of the economy, the federal government should focus on reducing and stabilizing interest rates. Lower interest rates will encourage more investment, and stable interest rates will allow Americans to better plan for the future.
