Many people came out and enjoyed an evening of hot dogs and beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres. We had about fifty people an everyone got a chance to meet Roland and here his views. Thursday, August 7, 2008 6:30PM-10:30PM Clifton Fundraiser and Meet the Candidate Clifton VFW - 491 Valley Road We had an opportunity to meet many people from Clifton Sunday, August 3, 2008 Mt Carmel Church, Passaic Festival Roland met with many voters at the Mt Carmel Church Festival Thursday, July 31, 2008 Paterson Fundraiser and Meet the Candidate We had a good event at our headquarters with Mayor Pat Kramer and Assemblyman Scott Rumanna attending. Neighbors and supporters had a chance to meet with Roland and ask him about his candidacy. Hot dogs and beer were served and everyone had a good time. Sunday, July 27, 2008 2008 Peruvian Parade Roland Straten marched from the center of Passaic to city hall in Paterson in this year's Peruvian Independence Day Parade. Also marching were the mayors of Passaic, Clifton and Paterson. It was a long 6 mile route, but the beautiful weather and the thousands in attendance made it a worthwhile experience. 
Saturday, July 26, 2008 Pompton Lakes Fundraiser at the Meadowlands The event was a great success, and all in attendance had a wonderful time betting on the horses.. Also present were the mayor of Pompton Lakes, many committee people, and Assemblyman Scott Rumana. Saturday, July 26, 2008 Peruvian Flag Raising Roland attended the Peruvian flag raising event and enjoyed an interesting array of Peruvian dances and performances. Friday, July 25, 2008 Wayne Republican Club Fundraiser Roland attended the Wayne Republican Club wine tasting event and met a lot of good people. Also in attendance were Assemblyman Scott Rumano and Mayor Vegano. Friday, July 4, 2008 Montclair Fourth of July Parade The Montclair Fourth of July parade was a great success. 
Thursday, July 3, 2008 Independence Day Celebration at West Orange JCC Roland gave a good talk to the supporters of school choice. 
Saturday, June 28 Cedar Grove Centennial Parade Roland really enjoyed his opportunity to march in this year's Cedar Grove parade. 
Sunday, June 8, 2008 Wayne Day The Straten Campaign came to Wayne Day to hear from local voters and promote the campaign. Turnout was excellent, and we were able to generate a lot of support. 
Thursday, May 1, 2008 Campaign Kick-off The Campaign Kick-Off was an outstanding success. Despite the rain, we were able to accomodate 100 supporters who had a great time getting to know one another. Mayor Pat Kramer, Senator Kevin O'Toole, Assemblyman Scott Rumana, and State GOP Chairman Tom Wilson were all present. All agreed that a real resurgence of the party is developing and with a lot of hard work, we will win in November.
