Freedom

  • Individual liberty is the foundation upon which this great country was built.

  • A key function of government Is to protect Individual freedom.

  • Matters should always be handled by the level of government closest to the people.

It is not the role of government to take a broad role in making decisions about how people should live. Government should support the private choices and private responsibility of its citizens.

If you believe we should maintain the rights of liberty and choice then I am your candidate. Almost all politicians claim to support freedom, but many seem to ignore freedom when implementing new policies that give them new power over the people. I believe in individual freedom both in theory and in practice.

The words of our founding fathers still ring true today:

I believe there are more Instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. -- James Madison

You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's Initiative and Independence. -- Abraham Lincoln

If you send me to Washington, I will consider personal freedom in every decision I make. I realize that only by reducing the size of government and ensuring individual liberty can we continue to prosper as the greatest nation in the world. Only issues that cannot be handled by the individual, locality, or state should be dealt with by the federal government.
